France
France played in the tournament for the first time in 1910 and their participation marked the transformation of the old Home Nations into the Five Nations. They won the competition for the first time in 1954, when they shared the trophy with England and Wales. France’s first outright victory came in 1959 and their longest wait for a championship victory was 37 tournaments between 1910 and 1954.
As part of the 6 Nations, France contests the Guiseppe Garibaldi Trophy with Italy. France is third in the list of all-time championship wins with 16 outright wins and 8 shared victories. However, one must keep in mind that they have played 30 tournaments less than the Home Nations.
Tickets for all of France’s Six Nations games are available from Viagogo and through this website. Book your tickets now and be there to support your team at their home as well as away games. |
